Default EFV8 in the Costco magazine!

Kudos to Doug Clem (Sparks, NV) for the showing of his '32 phaeton in the Costco magazine this month! Any Early Ford press is GOOD press!

Douglas Clem • Sparks, Nevada

1932 Ford Phaeton

"I bought my first 1932 Ford for $175 in 1968," says Douglas Clem. "It was a real challenge for a 19-year-old kid." Clem learned the ropes from locals who were "seasoned craftsmen—not Bondo [body filling putty] ‘body man in a can’ artists," and by subscribing to Hemmings Motor News, considered the bible of the car hobbyist.
Clem has since become the owner and restorer of four more ‘32 Fords—a Phaeton, convertible sedan, roadster and deluxe three-window coupe.
What attracts him to this particular year and make? "Ford offered their first V-8 engine in 1932—the V-8 Fords were considered a fast car in the day," he says. Bonnie and Clyde, John Dillinger and a host of bad guys all stole V-8 Fords, as they were fast [80 mph], and all the same price—free!"
"My wife and I have enjoyed many touring vacations in our vintage Fords. We take twolane roads whenever possible—it feels like it’s turning the clock back."

I wholeheartedly agree. Fun cars on the roads less traveled. Thanks for sharing, Tim
