Default shipping help needed, transmission

Not sure where to place this request. I am looking for a person to help move a C-4 transmission, flathead adaptor, a case of tranny fluid and some small parts on a pallet from Deer Lodge Montana to Circle Pines MN. Possible business to business pickup and delivery or residence if that works. I guess the weight to be under 150-160 pounds. If you can help E-mail Steve [email protected]

Have you tried Fastenal for shipping the pallet...
I have shipped with Fastenal. Give "Jenny" a call, she is in MN. and
should be able to give you a quote, if you have both zip codes.
Her Fastenal phone number is 507-453-8308.

Fastenal is a good choice. Few years back I shpped a tranny with them. It was all very simple. There is also a service I used to get a cummins engine to me from Texas. Google 'we ship engines.com', and there were a few companies like that. I first got a quote from Yellow Freight for 1250.00. The engine shippers find space on something coming this way and piggyback it. It cost 400.00 and it was delivered to me in a UPS semi truck/trailer.

I'll also give Fastenal the thumbs up. I sold a Zephyr trans, almost 3 yrs ago and the quote, was less than 1/2 what Fedex was but, the pandemic was full on and Fastenal had shut down many of their stores. It was to go to SD from here in OR, I would have had to drive 80 miles to a depot and the SD store was closed, so, it could only go to the LA area. So, I wound up having to Fedex. It cost the guy, almost as much as the trans.

On Fastenal stuff, it's cheaper if you crate it so, it can be stacked.

I recently found another shipper called OnTrac Shipping. I got it from a tire supplier, I used last month. He said they are the best for the large tires, he ships. They specialize in shipping larger items but, I haven't used them yet:

I checked with Fastenal (Blue Lane Freight) and they can't ship west to east.
I was able to speak with a dispatcher that confirmed this.
There is a map on their website showing the division .

Try "Uship.com" I recently bought a set of fenders in Omaha, NE. and had them shipped to Las Vegas, NV. About $150. The seller inquired with Fedex and UPS they wanted something crazy like a $1000.

Winter will continue along that
route for at least another month.

No one with experience is transporting
vehicles along that route until the Spring.

Is this something you are selling ?

Leave it to the Buyer to choose a shipper.
Advise they insure it for 200% minimum
fair market replacement value.

Have the shipper your buyer chooses
package the parts for shipping or
instruct you how to prepare the parts
for shipping.

Are you the Buyer ?

Deer Lodge, Montana is in
the middle of nowhere.

Commercial drop shipping
will be expensive.

Thanks to everyone who has helped me. Other people had luck with Fastenal. I tried calling Jenny but the line is disconnected. It seems that is a dead end this time of year. I was glad Jim answered from truly vintage, I know a lot of people have used his service. Right now I am trying USHIP, I will see where that that takes me. I really appreciate the help.

Unfortunately most commercial trucking companies are charging exorbitant rates these days. They would probably class your shipment class 300 which is the highest class rating and since you are a one time shipper there probably would not be a discount. Currently it sucks trying to ship heavy items.

Thanks Jim, the seller and I spoke today and worked it out using YRC and dock to dock delivery. Rate seemed reasonable to me using their website. Appreciate your suggestion.

Try shipping something to New Zealand!! I met someone today who is an international shipping agent -He tells me that international shipping rates out of ASIA after soaring with COVID are now back to preCOVID levels . However he says that rates out of the USA have not dropped much if at all -Unfortunately not many good parts for my vehicles in ASIA -Karl
