Default Beware of scammers

I received this response, 0 posts, referring person to another persons email who “has the part”.
Consistent with previous attempts to bait a seller here on the barn........
Another hatch of scammers.........

Good to know. I thought one had to have 10 posts to PM. If so how could he PM with 0 posts? Just wondering.

This guy and his "hello buddy" sounds exactly like the guy
who used to run the local haji-mart.

These idiots haven't figured out that once you activate your new computer you have an IP address.
IP address stands for “Internet Protocol address.” The Internet Protocol is a set of rules for communication over the internet, such as sending mail, streaming video, or connecting to a website. An IP address identifies a network or device on the internet
That computer can be detected to a location

A couple yrs ago I placed a wanted ad on the HAMB for a '35 Ford grille. I got a response From a newbie HAMB member who said a buddy(not a HAMB member) of his had one for sale.He provided me with his buddy's email. I asked for pics and His buddy sent pics of a freshly chromed one and it was priced right($900).He even provided an address to where it could be picked up. I asked for buyer references which he provided. They checked out but could have been his friends also.I thought strange that he wanted payment through an ATM which I couldn't do. I asked if any HAMB members were close by to do the deal for me.A member said that its on his way home from work and would check the grille out and send pics of it.. He knocked on the door and the person that answered the door knew nothing of a '35 Ford grille for sale or who that person was.I filed a report and a moderator chimed in to help. He was able to obtain the IP address of the Member.

.The computer was traced to a location in Kansas. His buddy was in NC. I did not pursue further since i did not make any form of payment so lost nothing
