Different design and therefore different part number.

I just went through that. The 36 frame hole is a smaller diameter and the 37 and later mount will not fit in the hole unless it is enlarged.

Third generation has a Bob Drake mount that fits all years and a 37 and later mount.

The two years are different. The '35 is straight, as seen in the pic below of a '35, with "48-" prefix number (1935). The '35 and '36 radiators have different angles on the water necks. DD

1935 BELOW with a "48-" Prefix in Part Number

1936 BELOW with a "68-" Prefix in Part Number

V8coopman: without seeing a side view, it appears the 36' outlet angles downward.
Am I correct ???

Yes, 36 hose inlets point downward.
That photo that shows the 36 mount is a fine example showing the 5/8" hole in pan rail which all Canadian shell main bearing engines have. Tis an easy way to identify LB 36 engines. Unfortunately, American cast 36 blocks don't have that easily identifiable feature. Just another example of Canadian stuff being 'different' - certainly makes it easy to identify. Another example of Canadian 'different engineering' is that many of their 24 stud engines, both 221's and 239's, ran lock in shell bearings on double oil hole drilled journaled crankshafts, whereas all Yankee engines ran floaters up until introduction of 8BA's.
Sorry about the thread drift....
