Default 36 pickup seat

How is the seat bottom and backrest attached in a 36 pickup? Mine is missing, only the platform remains. What year seats or springs will work? Thanks, Art

Hey Art,
Here are some pictures I saved. I’m pretty sure I got them from the Barn posted by another member. The plywood base has holes that located on posts that are part of the seat riser. I think I have others and will post them if I find them.

Sorry, but I can’t answer your question on which seat springs will work. I think its safe to assume 35-37 will work, but not sure about later years. I’m sure there is someone here that can.

I just received a new set of springs from Snyders in New Springfield, OH.
My 35' seat was really shot and the backrest could have been restored with
a lot of work removing rust and repainting.
They weren't cheap (by my standards), but, they matched my old ones perfectly.
Saved a lot of time.
They can make many replacements not in their catalog if you send your old ones to them.

FYI...........
The 3/4 inch plywood base has a two rectangle metal plate with 2 holes the diameter of the posts that are part of the seat base. The two holes in the metal plate allow you to adjust the seat -- all of about 1 1/2 inch forward or backward. Not as much as compared to a passenger vehicle anyway.
