I was sitting here and happened to look at my calendar and saw that one month from today My dad and I will be sitting in the folding chair sipping on Gatorade and eating peanuts under our tent

it was a nice fathers day morning after a drive in the coupe for breakfast

Mr. Chet Krause ...

Talk about a Philanthropist ...

I had the pleasure to meet him & spend a day in Iola, Wisconsin
several years ago when I went there to pick up a military load
to take to a retired US Calvary Commander in California (pictured below).

I did not know who Mr. Krause was, but at the end of the day
that had changed ....

After loading up - I walked the streets of downtown Iola and talked
to the folks in town who knew & loved him dearly.

Mr. Krause gave me a copy of his autobiography which I read
on my way to California - then passed along to the new owner
of the military jeeps & trailer .....

A memorable trip indeed !

My camper is a hour from Iola, I am heading to camper with my "best" half and the dog for a week, will bring them home, spend a day mowing the grass, etc. here, then head back up early Thursday morning and go to the swap for a couple of days. As far as "loading up" I will stop at the ATM and load up!
