Default alternator adapter

I think I remember a while back that someone said some of the G.M. alternator brackets for the flathead are flimsy. I've searched and can't find thread(s) on it. It there a better bracket to look for?

I have a Delco 12SI 78 amp alternator on my '47 with the typical yoke adapter. Been on the motor at least a decade with no problems. I've never observed any flimsiness, weakness or wobbling. I don't know who manufactured it but I will look closer tomorrow to see if there's a name on the casting.

I had a problem with mine. Partly due to using too long a belt (the alternator was high to get belt tension), partly undetermined harmonic vibrations. I now use a shorter belt and also reinforced the slingshot to be stiffer fore-aft, no more problems. (note I am using the narrow belts)
