2015 Washington state East vs West reliability run photos and report
Well the 5th Flatheads only East vs West reliability run is in the books. I think this was the best weather so far, and my personal favorite year we have had yet. Just a good group of people and some great cars and trucks. The West side stepped up their game and finally won this year at 30-29. Some guys don't register as I think we had around 100 cars but no matter it's the fun that counts.
A big thanks to the Hot Rod Cafe in Monitor WA for doing a great job feeding us and to Chris and Sam Lytle for the use of the land and for all the help. Thee emperors stayed in Leavenworth along with the Vancouver/Portland based club Estranged and we had a great time. I thought the motel was gonna kick us out but they said they loved us! We partied pretty early in the morning! In our group we had a car from Red Deer, Alberta Canada and my good friend Paul and Glendale drove Glendale's 1951 Ford coupe up from Sacramento to Spokane, Spokane to Monitor and today made it back to Sacramento. This was a flathead and a non overdrive car. 2200 miles total. Thanks to everyone, this event goes on because people show up. The only thing that funds it is T shirt sales so THANK YOU to those who purchased a shirt. See you all next year Chris and thee emperors From CA From Canada The drive there In Leavenworth WA at the motel

Re: 2015 Washington state East vs West reliability run photos and report
I have been working on my 53 Ford Sunliner since I bought it in July and it made it's run with zero problems. Runs excellent, very comfortable. Great road car!
And my dad has always wanted a 1953 Ford convertible. When I bought mine he got all fired up and found a nice Arizona, one owner, one repaint car at a dealer is Delaware. He bought it hoping to get it here by the run. On Wednesday they told him it would be in Seattle on Friday. So he skipped work, rented a car and he and my mom drove to Seattle, picked it up, drove it on the run and all the way home. Car did flawless. It's a lot nicer then mine haha

As always top-notch photography, Chris. You know how to capture a car with the correct angle. What was the price on that nice green 40' sedan with the for sale sign in the window?
Thanks for great pics! Phil |

Thee Inland Emperors rule. From remote Spokane they are able to consistently build fine flathead powered cars. This includes several contenders for the Americas Most Beautiful Roadster award at the Grand National Roadster Show. Runs like this show what can happen when a group of enthusiasts pull together. Hats off to them.

Beautiful! Your dad's '53 looks like mine, same color, black, black top and red & black interior... Just lit a fire under my butt to get mine back on the road. Thanks for posting all the photos

Chris .................................
Thanks for posting all the great photos ! You guys know how to have fun. I don't think that we could gather all those non-valve cover, three speed cars, here in the east. MIKE (mikebuch) |
