Electrical help needed
Need some help! I am pondering putting a circuit breaker in my '36 and do away with the one fuse protection. The circuit breaker is for a '41. It has three posts for hookups. The center post has a "H" on it. The other two posts have labels but not legible. Any help on this?
Thanks Tom |

Re: Electrical help needed
Here are the connections. You will have to figure out the wiring, in the 41 the two different out terminals on the CB connects to different terminals on the lighting control switch. It would be much easier to wire a 40 single CB panel into an earlier model.
The terminals should be "B" for Battery, "H" for Headlights & "A" for (I'm guessing here) Accessory. It's interesting that the wiring diagrams seem to show the terminals in the reverse order as they are on the CB itself. Be sure to check the markings on each terminal! Re: Electrical help needed
Tom, stick with the original fuse on your 36 Ford because this is how the wiring is set up. The circuit breaker has two separate feeds to the headlight switch which your car does not have in the wiring loom. You would have to make considerable wiring changes at the headlight switch at the bottom of the column and changes under the dash to the ignition switch feed and other items Are you good at following wiring circuits ? .Regards, Kevin.

Re: Electrical help needed
A modern short stop circuit breaker could be substituted for a fuse and it should be the same Amp rating as the fuse. Big trucks used these circuit breakers for many years.
