Question Ballast resistor question...(Bubba?)

My 36 was converted to 12 volts by the prev owner with a kit from vintage auto garage. Still running the ford dual point helmet dizzy w/remote mounted 12v coil and a ballast resistor. If I look on vintage auto garage's website now, they still sell these kits but I no longer see a ballast resistor. Can I assume if I run the 12 volt coil they now sell, it has an internal resistor? Reason I ask is, the ballast resistor on my firewall is looking suspect and I would either like to buy another for a replacement, OR, do away with it entirely.

The coil with their kit is this RUC15 (https://www.vintageautogarage.com/pr...ductcode=RUC15) which appears to have an internal resistor?

It says in the ad that no external resistor is required so it's ok to run as is.

Measure the resistance of the ignition coil you have...that will tell you if you need an external resistor or not.
And what value it will need to be...

Looks like ya answered your own question . Thats good.
We now ship a internal resisted coil with our conversions , the ballast ( or lack there of) has been a huge problem for everyone involved. And still is for some makers of kits with no coil added to kit.
