Default Drake Needle Bearing U-Joint?

Do I need the big gob of grease like the common Ford type? Thanks: Fred A

Yes, the same as a regular Ford u-joint. I’ve also heard that corn husker grease works well. I’ve used these the Lincoln style u-joints for many years. They work very well.

Hope this helps.

If your using the repop Lincoln joint be sure to check for end play after you tighten the bolt. It shouldn't have any . The ones I've see were junk. Had better than 1/4" play in and out. Friend of mine ruined two transmissions before we figuired out the problem.

So grease as usual. Rechecked the end play and was OK. Didn't seem unreasonable that they could use a more modern U-Joint, but onward and... Thanks Fred A

You might mean Corn Head Grease, by John Deere.
I've read previous posts here that mentioned needle bearing Lincoln repro U joints weren't the best, but I have no personal experience.
