Question Dome Light

I am redoing my 1928 Leatherback, and I was thinking about starting to look at getting my dome light installed. I have the correct lens, and I see in Bratton's catalog for example they have about everything I need but the actual socket the bulb goes into where the wires are run to. Anyone have any ideas where I can get the socket for that?

Thanks,
Neal

Years ago I needed a socket for a Town Sedan dome light, and a tail light socket did it.

Great thanks for the info, I appreciate it. Did you just run the wire then to the switch and from the switch to the terminal box, and then a wire from the socket to ground?

That is what I did for the wiring. There are channels cut in the passenger side center door post for the wiring to the switch and another channel along the door sill on the passenger side near the windshield where the wire runs down from the switch to the terminal box. Just be careful when installing the upholstery you do not put a nail through the wiring. Hard to find the short.

Has anyone ever see the channel and spot for the switch on the drivers side? For some reason that is where mine is located. All the others I've seen are on the passenger side.

Just wanted to bump this to see if anyone has ever seen the wiring channel and switch for a rear dome light on the drivers side instead of the passenger side. Just curious on the answers...

So it was never meant to be on the drivers side then correct?

From everything I have seen or read the dome light switch has always been on the passage side. But then again I never seen a right hand drive. Sounds like it got switched.
