I don't know what kind of car that is, but, the pic looks as though it might be PAAs first office in Key West.

The article says "Pan Am’s marine air terminal in Miami at Dinner Key, pictured in 1932."

Now, that's an oddity that I've never seen before.

I wonder how they have the steering, clutch, brake, and throttle connected?

A very cleaver buddy of mine is actually building a replica of the PAA vehicle, planning to use a Model A as a tow vehicle. He's one of those folks that seems to be able to build anything he puts his mind to so it may well happen.

From my friend who's trying to make one of these:

"My research brought me to the conclusion that it a 1928 LaSalle (manufactured in fleet wood PA), originally used by the contracted Red Top Taxi agency Miami and then purchased directly for use by the Pan Am Dinner key. The trailer used is a passenger mover created by Curtis and was called the Curtis aero car."

You're right. I didn't look at the article as I should have. There seemed to a somewhat tropical flair to the picture. So I thought it might have been near the companies first office during the early years started in 1927 in Key West. I like hanging out at the office there which is now a bar/restaurant.

Not model A. While a prototype was produced (see picture), no 3 window model A coupes were sold.

I think Glenn hammond Curtiss was a great man. My grandfather and he were friends and he has always been one of my hero's. I enjoy spending time in Hammondsport.

Hmmmmmm..........Funny you should mention that. This one (pictured below) surely became "distributed" somehow to the public. Note the OBSOLETE FORD PARTS store pictured behind the Model A. This shot was likely taken in the '60s, yes? DD

Reminds me of the similar one that was for sale at RM Auctions at Hershey last year:

Click on the photo to take you to the RM Auction listing with many other photos and details (It was a no-sale with an estimate of $100,000-$150,000).

It is a Ford Model A Coupe pulling the trailer.

The prototype in my picture is a 31 with a straight windshield. The A in yours looks like it has a slant winshield. If so at least two were made. Unlike today when prototypes are all destroyed, they were not so wasteful back then. We know that the one off model A's made for Edsel are still around. It would not surprise me if the 3 window model A coupe prototypes are still around and show up some day for very big money at one of the big auctions.
