Default Value of my possibly rare perches?

I recently removed my front perches due to them not having a shock ball mount cast into them. Coincidentally while skimming thru the judging standards it says only the first 200 models came with these shock less type perches. So if they are somewhat rare, what would be a fair price to ask for these?

Did the 28-29 AA have shocks? Those axels were the same as cars in 28-29 I believe.

Check the rest of the front end...the whole thing may be ve28...or the perch could be modified or...?

I'll try and post a pic. I read the stampings on the front axle will narrow down the year and also I read in the same book that some models did come with 13 leaves and not 10. So possibly the whole front end was transplanted from another year model.

Although they are grimey they don't look like any cutting was done on them. Imo.

As to your original question, value, that is a slippery slope with VE parts only used late '27 and possibly Jan 28.

Rarity drives price, but so does demand. The number of people doing a fine-point resto on a VE and needing them is likely zero! As a whole a restored VE car is worth a fortune. If no one needs the part its value is . . .

I have the opposite problem- I've been looking for a pair of specific VE lamp parts for two years with a standing offer of $1,000. Unobtanium! If they were March 28 the pair would be worth $50. LINK

I narrowed down some info on my parts. Based on the stampings on my front axle coupled with my perches, leaves and radius rods. My front end was originally intended for a very early 1928 AA or AAF.
I never found the picture of the early perches in the standards VE section Dj moordigian.

The AA on the front axle doesn't mean it's for a truck. As I recall it's something to do with the metal used.

From the restoration guidelines,

"Shock absorbers were not used on the very earliest
passenger cars (less than 200) and therefore the spring
perch had no attachment ball. However, it is
believed that none of these vehicles were released to
the dealers for sale to the public."

Also there is a pair just like yours for sale on ebay right now so i doubt the rarity for the Model A.

What did the "T" use?

I don't think it was from an AA because that stamping. I think it was from an AA because it had 13 leaves when I took it apart. The axle also has the 5/8 ford stampings which according to the standards and the locations of those stampings places the axle on a VE '28. The radius rod also has the taper and weld seam of a VE.

I originally thought the 3 extra front leaves were added because it was sagging but come to find out the leaves were still within specs so no extra leaves shouldn't have been needed.

So what did you sell them for if you don't mind me asking? You can pm me if you'd like.
Also, is there info on the front axles to decipher the rest of the stampings on the front axle Tom?

The shank on AA perches are bigger diameter and longer than A so they
wont fit in the A axle. Also the AA shackle bushings are wider, the same as
Model A rear bushing.

I don't know where to find information on the marking, but I seem to recall Marco knows about the AA and BB markings, and he isn't on here any longer.

Thanks Bob and Tom. They definitely are not the same size shackle bushing as the rear. So that removes the AA possibility.
