Default My truck just missed being in a shop fire

There is a small blemish in the paint on my truck and the guy that did the work was going to repair that spot starting last Saturday but, he called and said he had another truck in that he had to finish before he could do mine and asked if I could wait a week or so, I said sure. Thursday night there was a fire in the roof of the shop. The fire department used a hot saw to cut through the overhead door and pulled down the double Sheetrock ceiling etc all of which landed on top of the truck the guy was working on. The truck was ready for primer. Now it needs body work to straighten out all the damage caused by the material landing on top of it. My truck would have been right where that truck was. Fortunately the sprinkler system went off and triggered the fire alarm or the whole shop would have been lost as the fire started about 9:00 PM. The fire department told the guy he could clean up that part of the shop but, he can't do any work in that area until it is repaired. Looks like it will be quite a while before my truck gets fixed but, it sure beats it having been there during the past week.

I'm not sure what his or my insurance would have done and I'm glad I didn't have to find out.

Strange how the other fellow was happy that his truck was being worked on & you were sad that yours was not / then the rolls & smiles reversed. He is now sad & you are HAPPY !!!

I have a good friend that had his 32 sedan burn up in a shop fire while it was in a transmission shop last year. Total loss I might add. Sure does suck.
