This was done while the engine was in the car. I think the next time it will come out... not sure if that would be more work or not? Great learning experience. The babbitt's are all fine. I used the foil method the check clearance. The mains needed no shims removed. I did have to remove one shim from #1 and #4 rods. I used the old string and bungee cord trick that Tom Wesenberg mentioned in a previous post to hold the oil pump in place.... worked great. I'm dirty, tired, and wore out. Oh, she drives and sounds much better. Well worth the effort. "Thanks" to all that post here on The Ford Barn... I did a load of research on this site before tackling this project. Thanks again!

Off to the shower and dinner table.

its very satisfying i remember my first time.

if you still have hair don't forget to wash the oil out of it.

Yes, and the flat spot in the back of your head will probably pop back out while you sleep.

Thanks boys. My body is a little stiff this morning. Not oil leaks last night after my short test drive. Going to take her out this morning while its still cool and put some miles on her. Have a great holiday weekend!!!
