Default New Flathead Conversion 49-53 Bubbas

Its here ! Finally got the deal done on a new (nos) USA made Delco core to use for our flathead conversions as a replacement for the 49-53 loadamatics. We have shipped approx 1000 of these using a aluminum delco used unit as a core and lately the cores have been getting worse and worse.
Now we use a new complete distributor and machine for the ford flathead v8. Saves us a ton of time and labor on clean up tear down and blasting etc.
These new units also have some variation in configuration.
Contact points ( using the best contacts available), electronic using a load sense pertronixs module and vacuum advance ( just to make ole Ron happy)
As always curved for the flathead engines and new cap rotor and hold down with plate like factory.........check out the delco story link for inside information.........
January special pricing:
stock delco-$250, flathead with points $250, electronic $368
shipping is $ 18 for each and optional adjustable vacuum advance is no charge for January Ford Barners only this month.......
Order by pm and leave phone number (we will call for charge number) or use pay pal at [email protected]

Jim,
I'm in the market for a distributor for a blown 8ba that I'm building.
Would one of your units be compatible?
If so, how would it stack up against a Mallory Unilite or an MSD?
Could I use an Msd Boost Timing Master control with it?
Sorry for all the questions.
I'd love to give the business!
Thank you,
Joe

Sorry Jim. That price is way out of my league.

We've found the hardest part of building these distributors is the advance curve. That is until Richard started making his own springs.

Only concern is maybe the interference with the blower belt?

The first 12 are in the machine shop being made into the flathead. Shipped the first two this week. One electronic and one contact point.......

Picked up 8 of the units this morning (5 degrees) . DB got these done in two days , thats the best ever !! Should have them all ready to ship next week.
I am liking this new clean , new product.......

Picture showing mounting plate in factory location using a stud in lieu of a bolt. Fits very well with tons of movement if needed....

Jim, I'm curious why you don't use OEM parts on the Electronic models? I worry about replacement parts when on a road trip thru this part of the country. Using GM parts for the trigger and wheel would seem to solve that problem? ( I wouldn't want the coil-in-cap!)

5-6 years ago we did use orginal delco parts and a chrysler pickup. Sold quite a few but as time went on the parts became cheap off shore stuff and were very problem matic etc.

Example today , Delco no longer makes anything , not one part number they out source everything they sell! No longer can i buy the hei modules with all the circuits in them and the mopar(mopar parts) pickups are terrible.

Another issue is the fairly low compression of the flathead engines , hei is a very serious over kill and often causes more problem than it cures.
Pertronixs 6 years ago had some issues as well, but today our return on them is very very low. I like the idea of the lobe snese and the fact that the current levels stay pretty low as well for even longer life on everything...
