Default 33/34 Grille swap on a 34

I’ve always been curious as to the feasibility of swapping 33 grille in place of the 34 on my car. Not necessarily a permanent thing but I always liked the 33 grille just for a little change up. The good book says the 33 hood is slightly longer. It doesn’t say how much “slightly” is. Is there enough difference in length that gap between 34 hood and 33 grill would be objectionable. Thanks for any feedback. Jerry

Slightly, as in slightly pregnant.

In addition to the hood being slightly longer, it is shorter (with rounded sculpted front tips). The angle of the fender where it mounts to the grille is different (nothing a good metal finisher cannot change in a couple of hours though).

Unless you want the car to look REALLY bad plan on changing the hood and fenders too.

The '33 grill is narrower than the '34 grill, where it mates up with the hood tops.
Hence the need for the '33 hood tops to be a tidbit longer, where they mate
to the grill.
Many years ago, I welded in small pieces of metal on the right and left
hood tops to mate '34 hood tops to a '33 grill. The car was an early hotrod.

Use a 33 hood also or your hood to grille gaps will be horrible .
The 4 brackets holding the grill will need to be 33 also .

You will not have anything for the rear hood strip to hook into either .
33 has a catch riveted on and 34 just has a hole for the handle to hook into .

Not impossible to do but definately not just a simple switch .
