Will a '40 sway bar fit on a '36??
My '36 project came with a 1940 front end. I was curious if anyone has ran the sway bar? If there were any downsides or if it was even worth the trouble. I think I would need new pins for the perches as one is really beat up and missing threads. Im in the middle of splitting the wishbone and getting rid of the orange right now.. I'd appreciate any help.
Thanks -Andrew |

I put one on my 37. You will have to drill holes in the under side of the frame horns for the swivel brackets.

Sway helps a lot on a 1940 so it will be a help on the 37 to prevent "rock 'n roll".
I think C & G sells the perch pins. The spring is a Posie reversed eye spring for a 40 Ford. Last edited by 19Fordy; 02-09-2022 at 11:35 AM. |

What tool do I need to remove and install the new pins that go into the perch bolts? I've read that it isn't an easy job.

I got the perch bolts out ok, but the threads are all messed up on the pin for the sway bar that ate on top of he bolts. Any particular way to get those out?

I put a '40 sway bar on my '37 1/2 ton, sway bar was located in the stock ('40) location, had to modify the front cross member slightly. Improved the handling GREATLY!
