1947 super deluxe hood latch picture request
I am having problems accessing my engine area because the hood release pulled completely out and wondered if anyone had pictures of a 1947 super deluxe hood latch so I can get some kind of idea on how to open my hood. Any help is appreciated, thanks

Re: 1947 super deluxe hood latch picture request
It happened to me when the body shop that painted my car closed the hood and did not realize the pull was not attached yet. I took a 1" by about 12" piece of 18 gauge sheetmetal and wrapped it in masking tape to prevent scratching. I put a wood shim between the body and hood and with a flashlight you can see and push against the latch. You don't want to push up too hard on the hood with the shim, it's only to allow you to see the latch lever. If you have enough space a long really thin screwdriver will do the job also.
