Default Gas spark rod ends position

I had to replace my gas and spark rods. Rusted into column and not moving with out cutting off and driving out.
Now trying to replace rods with catalog ones and my original rod end horn fittings in engine compartment.
Catalogs say one up/ one down, but when I place distrib and carb ends on rods and put pins in hole, gas rod only moves 1/2 of available distance at steering wheel and bottom horn already hits steering column.
I did not pay attention when I disassembled as to how those ends were positioned.
Are the holes in those catalog rods accurately drilled for the end horns?
Can some one tell me when both levers up to max up position at steering wheel, where the bottom horns should point. Such as when sitting in sear looking forward gas rod horn at say 1:00 o'clock and spark rod horn at 12:00 c'clock.
This would allow me to maybe drill new holes in my rod horns to match correct positions.
Thanks,
Jerry

Spark rod points down. Mines at say 10:00. Gas rod points up. Points at about 11:00

I've used the repo rods and fit just the same as my rusty originals. Dont forget your felt doughnuts. Now I have probably 5 sets of linkage rods and some vary in length by as much as 1/4"... Keep that in mind as well.
