Default Ford Script Valves

I have a set of Ford Script Valves and all but one are serviceable. Are they worth anything other than to put in an engine and run?

Without being 'cute' or sarcastic, "worth anything other than to put in an engine and run" means what? If someone is building a static display, they might have some value to that person however they would likely want an original box to go with them, --or if someone else has a partial set and is needing a couple replacements, yours may have some small value to them but for me personally if they are the original style, I feel the modern stainless valves that allow the use of a one-piece valve guide is much superior to run.

Typically when I get a "core" engine the stock valves/guides are one of the first things to go in the trash because I, like you, believe the modern valves/guides are superior. This particular set of valves I couldn't bring myself to toss, the condition and Script compelled me to save them. So in my mind, they have value as stock valves but I figured to someone else they may be worth a little more. To be honest I hadn't considered the static display idea.

The reason I'm asking is I have a use for 4 of the valves and was wondering if it would be better to keep them together as a set?. That diamond block I posted about a few days back is a good engine but is in need of a valve job, 2 of the exh valves are mildly burnt. Currently the engine for my A is at the machine shop getting sleeves, seats, etc. The condition of this diamond engine is such that with a simple valve job it will probably last years and certainly until I finish rebuilding the engine that goes in my A. By using 4 of these Script valves to replace the bad exh valves in that diamond engine I can get my A back on the road and take my time rebuilding the proper engine for it.

There is a certain urgency in my wanting to get it back on the road again. I learned how to drive in this A and taught 3 of my 4 kids how to drive in it. Now it's the "Baby's" turn to learn.

BTW I appreciate your comments.

I have used those script valves in my truck . They are a very good quality valve almost stainless steel grade I imagine they are the same quality as the original water pump shafts . If you ever tried to cut one with a hacksaw you would know what I mean .

I haven't used the new type valve probably because I had a few sets of nos guides

Put them in that B engine and go down the road!!!
