59A Howard F7 Cam
I'm looking at a Howard F7 cam for a 59A flattie. I know the Howard F9 cam works really well and I was wondering if the Howard F7 cam is worthwhile even bothering with. Howard Johansen is probably better known for his 6 cylinder cams.

That is a very open-ended question!
Works good in what car, what engine, what application??? Give us some information on the car, the enigne, the enigne details (year, bore/stroke, valve setup, intake, ignition, etc), the transmission, the rear end ratio, the intended purpose of the car, etc... There are hundreds of cams to choose from - with every sort of application imaginable . . . without the "context" of what you're building . . . opinions are worthless. So give us some grist for this mill . . . |

Thanks Bored and Stroked. Engine is a 59A flattie, 276 cu. in. 4 inch Merc crank, Harman Collins dual coil ignition, Smiith heads, Edmunds 2X2 intake with dual 97's, valve train pretty much stock. Car is a light 1927 roadster on a Model A frame, 1939 trans with 26 tooth LZ gears, rear end is a 3.78 Halibrand, tires are 7.00 X 16 rears 5.00 X 16 fronts. Has Whitey Clayton hand fabricated aluminum nose and hood. The roadster will be used for street use. Enough info..........
