I ran dual Heddon mufflers, sounded good (not loud). Long ago, but I believe I got them from LMC Truck. Chap

I' d say the most likely risk of the law checking on your loud exhaust is if you annoy the neighbour with your antics.

I have not heard of a place at least in the US, that has exhaust noise level in their inspection test criteria .... i.e now days seems limited to safety and environment issues. Some state troopers use to give tickets for noisy mufflers but that was long ago.

Wedge some steel wool LOOSELY up the pipe ?
