It's the price we pay for choosing to not upgrade forum software.

The "PRICE WE PAY"? Hell.....Don't forget that Ryan C. is the one that PAYS.

Hi Chris,

That will work ONLY if your pictures are out on the internet and you can copy a URL of it/them.

It won't work in a PM or in a post if you reference the local computer file location and not a URL.

You can actually see the forum software upload the pictures from your computer to some working folder when you use the "paperclip" and hit "Upload". Each one of these pictures now permanently resides somewhere on the forum's server; this is the reason for the size restriction. There is no "paperclip" option on PM's requiring the use of a different method.

Given the state of computer storage when this software was developed, it is quite understandable. Things are different now.

If you have the pics on your computer, then doing a copy/paste the pic will go on a PM. Just tried it, but didn't send it so I don't know if it will go through. Has to be a small pic as the viewing area on a PM is pretty small

Unless I misunderstand what you are saying, I suggest you try it again and actually send it. I'll bet it doesn't work.

I just tried to Copy & Paste. It will only paste a line of superfluous gibberish.

That SMALL "Viewing Area" on a PM can be opened way big by simply clicking on that "Go Advanced" button just below the window. DD
