What's your "Winter" project?
Well seeing all the snow and tree damage this morning I would say winter got an early start. After I recover from filling my oil tank's, a new radiator/shroud and fan will be part of my "winter" project

Re: What's your "Winter" project?
I made a mistake late last summer and made an offer of a lot less money than the asking price on a `51 F1 pickup and dragged it home. It's not really a bad truck but it has the flathead six engine. The carb is messed up from sitting and the engine makes a funny little noise when its running that I don't recognize. I made my mind up not to put a lot of money in a 6 banger and bought a couple of late flathead V-8 engines from a fellow Fordbarner.
The truck now sits in the shed as I gather parts and the engine gets rebuilt. My goal is to have it running by Spring or early Summer. Shadetree

To splice two 40 coupes together and have it running by spring. Yes I know I'm not well.

Re: What's your "Winter" project?
I keep my C---- coupe in our garage during the warm weather months and work on cars at my mom's. During the winter, my wife's car goes in our garage, the coupe goes into storage at mom's meaning that there's no room to work. Plus, mom's garage is colder than can be and unheatable. No winter projects

Re: What's your "Winter" project?
Going to move my car town here to Maryland where It is a bit warmer and do all the finish stuff I need. Floorboards in, correct door and window handles. replace some wiring, replace missing trim screws etc. Got to make sure it is ready for Georgia in June...already booked my room.

Re: What's your "Winter" project?
I'm going to build my '40 into a reliable driver this winter. Definately won't be a show car! Have most of the parts with a fresh engine, trans, rear and new brakes & steering just about ready to go. But first, the sand blasting.

Re: What's your "Winter" project?
I plan to re-paint my Model A engine and transmission in order to put it ('31 Tudor) up for sale next spring--not enough Model A folks around this area. Also, I am thinking about replacing the steering box gears in my coupe.

Re: What's your "Winter" project?
My winter garage time will be spent on the '39 1-ton in my avatar (old Railway Express Agency truck - Highland body on a 1-ton chassis/cowl.) I plan to use it to haul my "stuff" to monthly Amherst Flea Market.
I've been working on frame in the garage already and plan to move the body into my back garage "before snow comes..." - Ha ! Our "Halloween Snow" is melting but pics show what it looked like this weekend.....still no power at home, but that has not stopped me - generator runs house and enough for partial lights/tools in the garage ! I had been on Ford Barn in the past for info on my '56 Customline, but now very much look forward to tapping into info on the '39. Paul |

Re: What's your "Winter" project?
I hope to nearly finish my 39 half ton pickup.
Hey BIG-BRO your 39 railway express truck is really unique. Can you give us more information about it and some pictures please? |

Re: What's your "Winter" project?
Hey Seth - I'll start a separate thread on the 1939 1-ton "REA" truck to post pics. Now that I know more about what I bought, it is making it even more fun !

Re: What's your "Winter" project?
"Winter project" depends on how far I get on my "fall project". I'm painting an other brand truck for someone who wants to take it to Back to the '50s next June. After that, I'll roll my other brand truck back into the garage for more mockup.
