Default What kind of valve?

I have a old 4 I/8 x 3 3/8 flathead race motor from the 60's[I think] that I'm trying to rebuild. Valve size is 1.624-1.627 and length is about 4.845. These numbers may not be perfect but are close. I've had no luck in trying to find out what the valves are or what motor they may have come from. I know it's a shot in the dark but any ideas might help. Thanks, Pete

Probably a chebby 1 5/8 valve they were popular back then. We also used one from a De Sota 6cyl, but that might be hard to find.

That's new info for sure. I remember the 1 5/8 now that you mention it. I'll check them both out. Thank you, Pete

See if you can find a size chart, old time auto parts store stuff... This would give a size to get a part number. I didn't save that catalog.

Are these 5/16 stem with mushroom bottoms?
If so, they were the hot tip back then. They were an aftermarket item
and it may be hard to locate any these days.
If they have 11/32 stems, they are likely Chev valves as others have noted.

Pete, I'm not sure what you mean about mushroom bottoms, it has adjustable mushroom lifters. I think they are 11/32 but are not the 1.6 chevy valve. As I said this motor is several yrs old[60's?] so it would be something from back then. Thanks, Pete

Yea, me too Ron. ??????

By mushroom bottoms I mean like the stock V8 valves from 32 to 48.
