It would beehoove the seller to have it running. The car would bring a lot more money...........

Seems like a very fair price. Please tell me it wasn't purchased by a hot rodder

That was a very nice late '30 to early '31 Canadian Std Phaeton.
Down here, a similar one would go for 2 to 3 times as much.
Model A's sure appear reasonably priced in the US, but you do have a big supply still there.

Same here, a friend of mine found one in identical condition and had to part with $20,000 to get it. He is a Chevrolet man but couldn't pass up the opportunity of getting such an original car even if it was a Ford. Add to that the cost of restoration here in Oz is also considerably higher than the US.
I guess it's a matter of supply and demand.

Phaeton brought $8700.00 . Buyer took it home flushed out the gas tank topped off the radiator, washed it off and was driving it up and down his street last night. Roadster brought $8600.00 and looked like it could of been driven home. No Buyers premium. A man with $17,500.00 could of had 2 open cars! Sale was never advertised in any old car venues and Auctioneer obviously wasn't a old car guy. Good for buyer I guess . Phaeton was advertised as a "Phantom"

Wow. I thought about going, but it was a bit of a drive and I was already busy. Not sure I needed a third A, but I was very tempted.

I'm really surprised that they sold so cheap. The seller would have done much better on ebay or in Hemmings.
