Default Never Overlook the Obvious

I have not done a lot of driving of my Model A since purchased. But with that said, I would drive it to town, got new tires, drove it to the Pizza place, entered a local vintage car show and just enjoyed the car as it was safe enough to drive to town.

The engine always seemed to be lugging along, I would get to speed, kind of tune up the GAV, and just did not seem right.

Eventually, I used the Henry Ford instructions on timing the engine and bingo!

Point gap was about 008! (and they were burnt off bad) Did it all, points, plugs, condenser and checked the coil! Now the engine does great!

Currently have the car on jacks for brakes and steering issues, and, I have developed the view to “never overlook the obvious on these Vintage joys!” Ya just got to know what the obvious is!

Good you found that. Points closing up seems to be one of the #1 problems you will run into. The wear block on the movable point wears down until they find their sweet spot then you're good to go.
