Default Fitting Brookville Trunk Hinges on a 31 Model A Coupe?

Hello Barners,

I posted this below on the HAMB but they told me to try here:

I picked up a trunk lid, rain gutters, and a set of trunk hinges for my 31 Model A coupe from the Brookville tent at Hershey. I ordered them before hand and picked them up at the show to save shipping cost. Great guys to deal with. I was trying to fit the body side of the hinges last night and it doesn't seem to line up. I've attached a link to a set of hinges that look like what I have below.

http://www.mikes-afordable.com/miva/...gory_Code=1096

The body side of the hinge is the pair to the right. Notice the mounting screw holes are offset from the pivot pin hole (center hole). On my coupe which seems to be original sheet metal the holes for all three of these are in a straight line, not offset. Are these the correct hinges for a coupe? It seems most suppliers are selling these for roadsters and coupes. I did see a vendor offering foreign made versions that appear to have all the holes in a straight line.

Am I missing something? I prefer not to but I could oval the pivot hole in the body. If I do, should the pin be above or below the mounting holes?

Thanks in advance for any replys.

The part that goes on the car has the hinge bolt threaded thru the middle hole. That hinge bolt goes into the end hole on the part that mounts to the trunk lid . The other holes are to mount those pieces to their respective body parts.

Does that clear it up a bit?

I have an aftermarket set and mine are in line. I ended up using the originals. If you want them, you can have them.

I to had tried to use the after market hinge set you show a link to and they did not line up either. I found an orig set to use and they fit great. when I comparied the two, the after market set center hole was about 1/8 out of line. I had contacted the vendor I bought them from, but it must not have done any good as I see they must still be selling them the same way.
