transmission case lube
Any one notice the subtle changes to the rear of the trans case to add more lube to the rear bearing.
I had a 35 case and a later one(pictured) on my bench together and the later one has a scollop out between the two top rear engine mount (7085) plate bolts ,this expose the rear mainsheet bearing and slinger so oil will run down into it, the early case does not have this, well my one now has. My mid-40s pickup case has a scalloped section there. It's shaped a little differently, more rectangular than rounded, as I recall. I thought it was to ease installation of the main drive shaft & gearset into the case.
