The repo rubber ball that fits over the ball of the wishbone (33/34 Ford).... not happy with it in that seems to be a loose fit. Is there a good supplier of quality rubber??

Ed, Is your steel ball the correct dia.? Sometimes they rust away.

my repop rubber ball on my 34 wishbone fit snug. like 19fordy said your ball diameter might be smaller than stock

Ed the steel ball on my 34 Roadster was badly worn and I had to weld it up and then file it back to the correct shape so that it was as close as possible to being dimensionally correct.

yep, weld it up and slip a washer over it to check the shape

The rubber balls will all be from the same supplier. They should be very tight to get on. The trick is to use air pressure through the back hole (if your runner ball doesn't have one then punch one to expand the ball to slip on) . If it is not tight then I suspect your steel ball is smaller than it should be. There is of cause a later rubber ball so check you have the correct early rubber ball -Karl

Usually a hot water bath will soften the rubber enough to get it over the ball. Most of us old timers used the ball to make a starter switch to "bump" the engine when necessary. The stock button just fit the hole, and a pair of wires comes out the small to alligator clips. After 65 years, I still have it.
