Default 1945 War Time Ford Pickup

Hi all,

I am new to this forum and I've been wanting to communicate with members but I need to have at least 10 posts for some and 20 post for others.

I saw somethings I'm real interested in!

I do need two rear end Spring Links with bolts, self locking nuts, bushings and rubber insulators. I've searched high and low. See the pictures.

Will
San Diego Ca.

Hi Will, Welcome to the Barn! You've got a keeper there!
I prefer the nylon shackles from speedwaymotors.com
By the way, thank you for your service! The last time I was there, that bridge behind you in the picture hadn't been built yet. USN ACB1 Coronado

The early 45 commercials have a different steering wheel and there may have been other material saving differences on those early post VE-day commercials. I still have an owners manual for them in my modest early Ford publication collection.

I got the front spring shackles for my 45 pretty easily. Maybe Ford Parts Obsolete, if I recall. The guy in Minnesota. I will need to check and see. I keep all my receipts. These should be the same for 42-47.

I got my front suspension parts from Southside Obsolete and C&G Early Ford Parts, from what I can see.

I'm jealous. You're starting with a much better and more complete truck than mine was. Looks like it is all there and in decent shape. Enjoy the restoration. Lots of work but lots of satisfaction when you're done.

I love the jailbars too. I think I have something like six or seven of them. All my other old fords got away from me. That looks like a real solid truck you have there. They are modern enough to drive as they are, but maybe not in San Diego. Enjoy the project and enjoy your retirement, and like others have said, thanks for your service!

I had an idea that there was a bit of rarity with Dec. 9th, 1944 being so close to the MFR date. I’m looking for anything that helps figure it all out.

Thank you
