Default Portland Oregon are wildfire (Eagle Creek Fire)

There is a major wildfire about 20-30 miles northeast of us coming out of the Columbia River Gorge. Areas of east Multnomah County are under "get out now!" evacuation notice (level 3) or precautionary (level 2 or 1).

If anyone needs emergency storage for a collector car, RV, boat etc we have about 2 acres of area available. My personal cell number is 503-eight oh six- 1801. 19701 SE Highway 212, Damascus OR.

This is a really dangerous fire fueled by the wrong conditions that could break out of the forest into inhabited areas. If you know someone in the affected areas let them know.

Karl

That fire JUMPED the Columbia River at Bonneville. The Columbia River is WIDE! That is some fire. Skies here in Bellingham (250 miles north) are yellow with smoke. This is major.

My b/in-law has a B&B in Ashland, had ashes by the pool the other day, many events in town cancelled, some smoke. Don't know if it's from this fire or not.

Stay safe ! !

We are getting major smoke here in the Walla Walla valley about 200 miles up the Columbia from Portland. With major fires all over the Northwest, we have no way of knowing whose smoke we are coughing on.

I lived down there for many years, there was always fires every summer and there is usually wind from the East blowing the smoke right into the Portland metro area. This however looks worse than anything I remember.

Paul, I think Ashland is getting its troubles from the Chetco fire, a huge conflagration to the West, and moving east. That fire is now bigger than Chicago. The Gorge fire is about 300 miles north of Ashland, and is about 10,000 acres and growing.
