Does Iowa accept New York junk titles?
Does Iowa accept New York junked vehicle registrations? Illinois has been rejecting them.

I would think not Like brokenspoke says "junked is junked". Probably also crushed and sent overseas.

I had to get a Bonded Title for one of my cars. You can apply for a Bonded Title and the State DOT will come out and inspect the car and put a tag on it. If no one claims ownership (after 3 years I believe) then you get a regular Title. You will need to show a bill of sale or maybe your junk Title to prove ownership.

I don't believe NY has a "title" as such. The registration is the title. Along with a "Bill of sale " from the seller. AFAIK there is no Title. Please correct me if I am wrong.

Yes, as you stated New York is still not a TITLE STATE for vintage cars and the registration and a DMV Bill of Sale form covers the sale of a Model A Ford. That certainly does not create a list of stolen registrations, though. I have not heard of this happening in the MAFC of Long Island's three hundred cars during the past decades, at least. I can't imagine why that Indiana registration would be removed from The OP's steering post. |

Here in Alaska, if you loose your registration slip, just go on line and print out another one. Most of the time, even though you might get asked for "License, Registration & Insurance" they look up on their computers the license and registration anyway. Registration is not proof of ownership, here anyway.
