Default Tacking Strip for '40 5W

Rounding up replacement tacking strip for my coupe, not that I'm to the point of installing but dealing with things I've not yet found for replacement as I lift the body for cleaning under side. The current quest includes the strip on the seat base. This one appears larger than the choices by Drake, 7/16"X1/2" which looks closer to the windlace strip around the door. Then the headliner strip around the windshield, may probably be Drake's 3/16"X11/16". That one is stapled in and may call for some fine wire or?? Does the car use other sizes that may not exist in my car? Compared to My Models A, the '40 seems to have twice the parts. Thanks: Fred A

Fred, you can use 3M black weather strip adhesive and glue tacking material where you can't use original type staples. Around the windshield of my 40 coupe I just glued waterproof cardboard cut to fit, same stuff that is sold for modern door panels. Where you need it thicker you can just glue another layer on. The plastic replacement stuff is good where the dimensions are right. Good luck.

I am installing upholstery kit from mac’s. This is my second time. For the tack strips in the channel I ripped cedar 1/2 X 7/16. I glued it in with 3m adhesive.
