Default body block question

I will be mounting my body on the frame soon my question is do you put the blocks on the frame then set the body on or do you put them in the body and the mount the body how do you keep them lined up or from falling off the frame or falling out of the body

I set my blocks on the body, with the rubber pads attached. Four of us lifted the body onto the chassis from the rear. With careful placement, the blocks were close enough and slipped right into the subframe. They were all pretty close to where they needed to be, but after my helpers left, I lifted the body slightly with one hand and slid the blocks to exactly where they needed to be so that the bolts would go into the holes.

I put the blocks on the body and hold them in place with a spray tack adhesive. Putting them on the body has them in the exact location in the body contours. The front blocks are held to the body with wood screws

The body OEMs mounted the blocks on the body. Each of the wood blocks had a rubber shim about 0/25" thick nailed to the bottom of the block to assure there was a gap between the body and the running board aprons.

Not all Model A body styles have mounting blocks. Those with wood body rails do not, but they do have the shims.

Kevin, as far as I know, lining up the doors and hood has to do with additional "shims" under the cowl blocks. I can't say for sure as I haven't got there yet. I'm sure you can either do a search here on the barn or one of the experts will chime in.

The #2 blocks are held in place with a wood screw which goes through the sub rail.. Look for the hole on each side on your Tudor
