Interesting Newspaper Advertisement - March 18, 1931
The 'Deluxe' models are for sale by then. It's interesting to note the price difference. A GOOGLE inflation calculator says $1.00 in 1931 is worth $16.39 today, but that was such a different era, I'm not sure you can really use that.... Lousy, tiny pic, so here is the link -

Thanks for posting - it's interesting to see the relative price differences between the different models.
I also find it amusing that their phone number is listed, "37". I guess not too many people had telephones back then? |

If roll up windows (which that has) ain’t no roadster these days... But a dealer calling it that carries some/great weight.. Looked back at ad...it lists a sport coupe. So I beg the question “what is the third roadster”? |

Re: Interesting Newspaper Advertisement - March 18, 1931
Prescott,AZ had a population of around 5,500 in 1930, so the phone numbers do seem a little weird.... But in the newspaper I see business numbers are up to three numbers (999), and residential numbers as 999-A, so that opens it up a little.

I love it!!!
"If you are the owner of a Model A Ford and don't realise what a wonderful car you are driving, get in some other make and take it out over the rough roads over hills and across the dips at 50 and 60 - then note the difference"!! I have posed this question before, I struggle to want to push my car to 50 or 60 now on a motorway, and Ford are suggesting you can do it all day on rough roads and over dips!! Yeah - Nah.... |
