Default 29 Step Plate Location-Bumper or Body

I am working on a (April?/May?) 29 Roadster and this is my first attempt to post a question on this forum.
My car body has a broken square step plate & bracket on the lower rt. rear body corner. Does anyone know if this location is correct for a April?May? 29 car? Also where can I find a repro. forged replacement bracket.
I enjoy this forum very much and look forward to any information anyone has on my question.

You could try Bert's in Denver for an original step plate. 800-321-1931

Here is a picture of the bracket and location you need. Yes, the brackets are forged and originals are the best to use and maybe the only brackets, as I am not sure reproduction brackets are made. 30 and 31 step plates are different and fasten to the bumper, so the demand is probably not to great for just 28 and 29 repros. Even if they are made they are probaby cast like repro 28/29 rear fender brackets are are very brittle and break easily under pressure - I have seen the rear fender brackets break on a friends car with a little pressure to align it. I gave him an original, and it worked great. I agree that Steve at Bert's in Denver might have one and his prices for original parts are reasonable. I might have an extra one if Bert's doesn't have any - I would have to check.
