Default Generator rebuild question

Greetings all,
Forgive me if this has been asked before, but I couldn't find any answers by searching through the forums.
I am rebuilding a 1930 generator but "The Model A Generator Book" that I have been referring to doesn't show very clearly where the two wires from the field coils go. There is one wire without a lug on it - where does that go? Then the second wire with a lug on it, where does that go?

I have included some pictures that might help.
As always, your learned advice is most welcome!

The field wire without a lug goes to ground, either ground to the case inside or connect to the ground brush. The wire with the lug connects to the movable brush. While apart, make sure the moveable brush moves, clean the movable brush ring if needed. Oil the bushings/bearings. Connect the generator to a battery charger or battery and it should "motor", it doesn't turn very fast. if you connected the leads correctly, you won't have to polarize the generator.

Look at the attached wiring diagram. It is one of the best I've found showing how everything is connected, including such things as field windings.

Herb gave the correct answer (post 3).

Depending on what year generator, I've seen the ground side hooked up different places. I generally put a larger ring on it, and position it against the generator housing where the generator output stud goes through. The insulators hold it tight against the housing.
