Default water pump rebuild

I'm working on several water pumps. I have lots of Brattons parts and I need a good, labeled picture of how they go together. Thanks.

Brattons (catalogue: assembly dwgs) and Berts catalogues for example have diagrams/exploded dwgs for the stock parts.

If you are working "on several water pumps" you must have one that is completely assembled. Disassemble that one, and you will see that there is really nothing special to rebuild one.

Also find an 'exploded' view in 'Mike's' catalog. I finally gave up and bought a 'leakless-greaseless water pump. Best move I could have made. Looks like original with NO hassle. I have been running it for over a year and no problems.

Bratton's is clear on how to install the new style bearing but leaves the rest up to you..IMO water pump issues are the result of a root cause, belt load.

modern automotive style belts should not be used in a model a application, especially an alternator car,use a"B"sized industrial belt or in the parlance a fractional horsepower belt.its a much better choice, they transmit more power at a reduced load. The offset is they dont have the life rating of the harder and less pliable automotive belt..in alternator model a application they tolerate a smaller pulley, higher load rendering less load on the water pump bearing.
