Default Slant windshield car part

Who can tell me anything about this part which was said to have come from a s/w sedan. It has remnants of some kind of a fiber filler in the groove, suggesting it to be a tacking strip. Seems more likely to have been from an open car. Any ideas?

Looks like the piece that goes on top of front seat to tack upholstery to yes there is a rope like material in the center and yes it is a slant window part

that (is) the tack strip that goes on the top of the front seat. it is missing the filler material inside that you tack to.
