I've read somewhere that someone makes a steel gear. I'm not sure where I read about it, but the article said it's noisy. Anyone have thoughts on this?

Boy, I dunno about a steel cam gear. I do know I'd rather replace a cam gear than a crank gear. If the composite gears hold up for normal use, an aluminum gear should last forever.
