Re: 1946 Ford Showroom
Here is that great picture of the Ford Showroom for 1946 enlarged. You sure have good eyes picking up the opposition dealer across the road. I had to look hard to find it after you pointed it out, but I managed to locate it eventually. |

I think Packard was close by also by looking over the stairs.

Re: 1946 Ford Showroom
It's interesting that even New Fords "marked their spots". Also, I believe the sign reflection is actually a neon "Arrow" Ford Service sign.

Re: 1946 Ford Showroom
The reflections are easier to see when the pic is enlarged. Near the Chevrolet, there are a couple of partial reflections of vertical signs and another by the Packard - one or two of them may be the exterior Ford sign(s). There's also part of a Ford oval.

Re: 1946 Ford Showroom
Drip pans under new cars, some things never change. The never ending quest for the non leaking Flathead has been going on for a long time. Customers must have been easier to please in those days? I don't feel so bad as all of mine have leaked to one degree or another.

Re: 1946 Ford Showroom
Great picture! I can’t decide between the coupe or the truck. I wonder what the prices were?

Re: 1946 Ford Showroom
As a 46 fordor owner and working on a 46 pickup....that is a great photo. I will have my grandson help me copy it and print it for framing. Can anyone find showroom pictures of other dealership showrooms that may show drip pans?

Did you guys see some of the other photos? Check out the truck album. Lots of other brands but really cool photos.

SHORPY (see link in post #1 or above) has these photos ready to frame. There is a watermark in the one posted.

Re: 1946 Ford Showroom
At those prices I’ll take one of each!
I know, I know, $1200 was a lot of money back then, my Dad was a kid then and told me he could buy six hot dogs for a quarter! |
