Needed-lower bell housing pan for '53 car
I'm in need of the pan that goes under the bell housing of my 1953 Ford Victoria V8. I think the 52-53 Mercury is the same. The part number is 6409, I think.

You should post this in The Swap Meet section, too.

Re: Needed-lower bell housing pan for '53 car
This type is a cast iron bell housing set up for the later 52 & 53 Ford type transmissions with the narrow Borg Warner bolt pattern as well as the late 51 through 53 Mercury which used the same transmission as the Ford cars. They do have a separate starter plate on the front as well as the inspection cover on the bottom. The late 51 Mercury type was the only one that still had the rotating equalizer shaft. The rest all use the lever type throw out actuator arm.
This link from Mac VanPelt's site has an illustration for the type.http://www.vanpeltsales.com/FH_web/f...s-adapters.htm |

If someone could help by posting a photo, I likely could help the guy out with one.
