Default Sedan seat

On my 30 sedan , the passenger seat irritates me when I am by myself ,
Every time I come to a stop , the seat Back flips down ,
Is there a way to tighten the seat back so it does not flip , was there springs that Attach the bottom to the top to keep it from flipping ?

There were no springs. I suppose you could use a bolt and lock nut at the hinge and tighten it.

Sounds like you have good brakes.

Just how fast are you stopping?

mine did the same thing until i added the 6" seat adjusters for leg room. they also have an adjustment for tilt which stopped the seat back from folding on stops.. it was annoying

Tom , stopping Is normal , I do have good brakes ,
I have removed the rear legs to give it a more recline back ,
Both pin's @ the hinge have a groove cut in them opposite end of the head ,
I was thinking there was a spring attached up in back rest & down to pin ,
Would a E clip have been used on the pin from Ford?

My wife uses a pillow in the seat to comfort her back. When I'm alone, I stuff that pillow into the space between the seat back and the bottom.

Put a round flat wavy spring washer between the seat frame that pivots. you can purchase at ace hardware

Yes, that groove in the pin should have an E clip or a wire ring. I think my seats used the wire ring.

Thank's for all , I did not think of the wavy washer ( obvious )
I Will try !
I am surprised that Ford did not use somekind of Detent to pervent the back from folding over.
