Default Horn Repair

I bought a Stewart Wagner horn and it worked good until I took it apart to clean and paint. I forgot the nut on the ratchet wheel was left hand so I tightened it until it broke instead of loosening it. Now I have an armature shaft with no threads on the lower end. Does anybody know somebody who can weld (or silver solder) a new left hand 10-32 stud back onto the shaft?

Center up the armature in 4 jaw chuck in a lathe, bore and tap for right handed 10-32 screw. Install and tighten screw, cut off screw head at required length. All other horns are right hand tread. Use loctite on thread if you like.

Just found out it needs an 8-32, not a 10-32. I'll try the lathe bore and tap if I can find a friend with a lathe.

"Sometimes" if you have threads showing, you can study them & determine if they're R/H or L/H threads.
