1956 March of Dimes tour
I pulled this medallion off the dashboard and hung it up in the shop. Apparently, this car did the 1956 March of Dimes tour. I have no idea if it did the whole thing or only a portion. The tour was from Massachusetts through Texas to Los Angeles.
I was 6 in 1956 and this would have been just a couple years before taking the polio vaccine at school (yea, big government!). Can't find much about it on Google. Anybody familiar? http://texashistory.unt.edu/ark:/675...dc498512/m1/1/ Last edited by jesselashcraft; 01-31-2016 at 11:30 AM. |

That is the script for a video to be aired on the local TV news show. You might contact the university to see if they have the video. I bet they do.

I dropped them an Email at the site but I'm not holding my breath. Even if they have the video archived, I doubt it would be digitized.
I would never presume to give you a homework assignment but if they have that B-roll, is that something you'd be interested in seeing? |

Hello, Thank you for your interest in the Portal to Texas History. I am writing in response to your feedback (below) left on the Portal. The 1956 March of Dimes Medallion is pretty cool. I wish we had the film you requested on the our site but we do not. I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you. I hope you find what you are looking for. Your feedback: Quote:
