34 Spare Tire Cover
I've learned there is a thin rubber gasket that fits between the two metal pieces on 33 and 34 spare tire covers. I'm assuming this gasket is to protect the paint from scratching when the two pieces of the cover are assembled over the spare and mounted to the car.
After trying to look at several photos of 34's on the web and checking the restoration manual, I cannot see the rubber gasket showing or mentioned in the manual. Can anyone tell me which of the two components on the spare tire cover the gasket is applied? I'm also assuming it is glued to one of the two pieces? A photo would help. Thank you |

Re: 34 Spare Tire Cover
Tom, Its on the lip of the face plate and originally sort of crimped in place. You might when installing the new rubber use some adhesive to secure it.That rubber is or was available from most vendors.Sheldon
