Default 36 ford pickup front spring?

I have a reversed eye spring on my 36 pickup. It is to low and nearly sitting on the rubber bumpers. I need to replace it. What is the correct distance, eye to eye on a factory spring? Thanks Ron. PS After 9 1/2 years we are very close to completion, picture to come soon!!!!!

Maybe just add a leaf. A long one. Could raise you as much as an inch.
Could you post a picture of one side of the front spring, showing the shackles?

Take your spring apart and re-un- reverse the bottom leaf. Its quite easy, and if it was an original spring that was reversed, it probably does not sit with the correct shackle angles, as they get longer when reversed. Picture?

FYI: 1936 half-ton dealer demos.
*******************
I bought a '36 from a pic ad realizing that it was 'special. Two spares with F0MoCo mounts one per side w/rear fender dip for spare, chrome windshield surround, back bumper chrome, obviously original, dual gauge (FoMoCo-installed on cars only.) dentless box.

Two wipers. (driver wiper: "Made in Canada" on arm, with orig flexible rubber blade. Soooo, I researched. '36 dealer demos were bright yellow cabs. Mine was typical Ford green including the dash.

hmmm. Curious, my hunch was correct; I 'etched' an eighth inch-long etch very low back of cab. sure 'nuf bright yellow!

FoMoCo sent demos to dealers w/instructions: Vehicle is painted Demo Yellow for the 'attention grabbing' while out on demo trips.

After demo'g, prep & paint w/a FoMoCo color & showroom it. (no one would buy a new bright yellow pickup.) The freshly-panted half-ton will sell upon showroom presentation.

*Ford did not install passenger wipers; it was a special-order item, and special-order items was the dealer's responsibility. Very rare truck. Still in semi-retirement, garaged, 100 mi from here. New owner loves it; his high school dream finally came through, owning a low-mileage, not beat-up '36 half-ton.He uses it as his 'company vehicle' around town(company name on the doors).I gave him its history.)
I sold it because I wanted an unresto'd '33 3w sooper orig. that I now have, patiently waiting seven years+ (diligently searching every day.)
